The school district included parts of Burns Valley, Fairview School District, Welden Valley, all of the Sulphur Bank Mine Property, and the present Clearlake Oaks.
East Lake District lapsed in 1904 and went back into the Sulphur Banks School District. In 1931 Sulphur Banks District ceased and it became the East Lake District. When the East Lake District was reopened, a small school was built at the site of the present Clearlake Oaks Grammar School. This building was used for 10 years or so until a new, larger school was built on the west side of High Valley Road & Highway 20 junction. When the little school was abandoned, it was moved and became the office of Stubbs Real Estate. It now is part of the Shannon Ridge winery. In 1959 another new school was built where the little school had once stood, and the previous school was sold to the East Lake Grange.
(Board of Education minutes: December 10, 1908 - "As the East Lake School District has lapsed, the furniture, etc. was divided between the Lower Lake and Sulphur Bank School Districts".)
